Is that the runway they used in GoldenEye? the buildings are not right but those could have been temporary buildings in the movie.

@tom080955 It slows the plane down a lot so basically that was a smart idea to use gravity to stop the plane – I guess the french are pretty smart.
@steve1428 – at an airport like that, you can’t afford to mess around with a nice soft landing – positive and safe!

@LockerzUnlocked Did you watch the video? Did you not see and hear the Tower Controller speaking? Or the reporter talking about permission to land? Best yet did you not see the CONTROL TOWER?! Come on Man!!

I know of a B200 that landed but.. he broke the wings so badly the engines touched the ground hell of a “Hard Landing” To recover the plane they had to saw off the wings remove the tail for the transport. After straightening the fuselage and a new wing from Raytheon the airplane flew again 2 years later!
